This module develops competence in evaluating audit evidence, assurance quality and board reporting for governance and risk decisions.

Evidence: Assurance map, critique of assurance evidence and board-level reporting output.

  • LO1: Critically evaluate assurance evidence.

    1.1 Analyse different sources of assurance evidence. 1.2 Evaluate the reliability, sufficiency and relevance of board evidence. 1.3 Identify assurance gaps and limitations.

  • LO2: Evaluate audit and assurance reporting.

    2.1 Critique an audit or assurance report for board use. 2.2 Identify weaknesses in evidence, recommendations or accountability. 2.3 Recommend improvements to assurance reporting.

  • LO3: Develop an evidence-based board report.

    3.1 Produce a board report using assurance evidence. 3.2 Justify conclusions and recommendations with evidence.
